Was it before or after January 1, 1989?
If so, you will have the opportunity to pay a little bit of money (make a deposit) and get credit for that time served. If you don't pay the deposit, the time doesn't count.
If you had a temp appointment on or after January 1, 1989, except for few instances, you do not have an opportunity to make a deposit and earn credit for the previous time served.
Learn how this affects your eligibility during our upcoming retirement seminar. Registration is filling up fast and space is limited - deadline to register is Friday, September 09, 2022.
